.: PROJECT 10 MILLION AND 1-2-1 TESTIMONIES
FROM NEW AND RECOMMITTED BELIEVERS AROUND THE WORLD
Alita from USA recommitted her life to Christ.
She asked, "I'm a married student with 2 kids. Is it a sin to go clubbing with the girls every once in awhile? There is no drinking is involved."
1-2-1 Volunteer replied, "You asked if it was a sin to go clubbing if you don't drink. I'm not going to say yes or no. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:12 "'Everything is permissible for me'-but not everything is beneficial.'Everything is permissible for me'-but I will not be mastered by anything." Paul repeats this with a variation in 1 Corinthians 10:23 and ends with "...but not everything is constructive." When Christ died on the cross for our sins, all our sins were forgiven. All the sins we committed in the past, and every sin we will ever commit. This means we are free from sin. This does not give us the freedom to go sin as much as we want though. Paul writes in Romans 6:1-2 "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" With freedom comes responsibility also. In Romans 14:12-14 Paul writes, "So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean." Here Paul talks about that things and actions are not sinful in themselves but how they are used and how they are perceived. So is it a sin to go clubbing? No. Is going clubbing beneficial? Will it master you? (mastering you means it becomes a priority, or is something you have to do) Will it cause someone else around you to stumble? Will it help you grow closer to God? Your life is a reflection of Christ. Would going clubbing damage the way someone else see's Jesus through your life? You can choose for yourself if you want to go clubbing or not."
Alita replied, "That helps alot. Thank you so much."
